    Krishna, the Shepherd Boy

As children, Krishna and his brother Balarama helped their father look after his cattle. Often, he and Balarama took the cattle to Krishna the sheperd boygraze in the pastures of Gokul. While the cattle grazed, young Krishna played melodious tunes on his flute or played games with his friends.

One day while he and his friends were playing in the Fields. Krishna noticed a new cow in his herd. He got alarmed and called Balarama. Krishna told him that the cow looked different and did not belong to them. Balarama agreed with Krishna.

Quietly, the brothers approached the cow. Krishna held the cow around and threw him in the lake nearby.

Just as the cow fell, it transformed into a monster, which had taken the form of a cow to kill him.

His friends rejoiced at the death of the monster and congratulated Krishna for his courage and strength.
