Lord Krishna at Indraprashtha
When Mayasura built the exotic city of Indraprastha, even the gods
came to see it. Yudhisthira decided to hold his famous rajasooya yajna
there. Invitations went out to all, including Krishna. Krishna,
accompanied by his wives, arrived at the gates of Indraprastha . The
roads were all lines with elephants spraying rose water. Vibrant flags
and festoons adorned every wall of the city.
Streets were decorated with statues made of gold. The entire city was
dotted with colourful flowers. White swans swam in pools decorated with
water lilies. Lamps made of precious jewels hung in every house.
As Krishna entered the gates, dancing girls strew garlands on his path while bugles and drums played to welcome the guest .
